Hi, I'm Oseye Cohen, a Property Administration Strategist and Business Growth Mentor based in Toronto. I have a passion for managing and revitalizing vacant properties. With years of experience in property management, preservation, and renovation services, I founded 12 Gates Property Services to help real estate investors, landlords, Realtors, and private lending institutions minimize financial losses and maximize cash flow.
My team and I work closely with clients to enhance property values and ensure the success of their investments. Additionally, I guide property owners and investors, offering strategies and opportunities to help them achieve their real estate goals.

My Start in Property Management
When I initially got started in property management, one of my first tasks involved hiring a painter for a property damaged by neglectful tenants. Among the quotes from large companies, one independent painter stood out. Despite working full-time at a local Parks and Recreation facility and only painting on weekends, his passion and dedication shone through. His quote was lower and his timeline longer, but his story captivated me. He was supporting his family and pursuing his passion against all odds. This experience transformed my approach, leading me to prioritize hiring independent contractors, especially BIPOC individuals. Through my company, 12 Gates Property Services, we empower BIPOC workers by providing opportunities, addressing their unique challenges, and promoting diversity and inclusion in property management.
As I continued in property management, I encountered many independent contractors with stories of resilience and dedication, reinforcing my belief in supporting these hardworking individuals. At 12 Gates Property Services, we created The Handyman's Helper program to offer property management and virtual administration services, focusing on hiring BIPOC contractors. We provide fair wages, access to essential resources, and a supportive work environment, helping contractors thrive while ensuring compliance with local regulations and building codes. Our commitment to empowering BIPOC contractors not only enriches our services but also fosters a more inclusive community, making a meaningful difference in people’s lives and setting a new standard in the property management industry.
